Service-learning in English as a Second Language Teacher Training Program: Exploring Pre- service Teachers’ Authentic Learning Experiences

As the world we live in has become more digitalized, challenges are occurring left and right, especially education field. In gaining quality teachers, there is a need to train future educators have ability adapt ever-changing technology global changes. However, pre-service teachers often seem unprepared unable Hence, implementing service-learning teacher training program vital as it provides opportunity engage experience 21st-century real classroom lessons. Service-learning also been proven be an effective approach teachers. This paper aims investigate perceptions of toward terms authentic learning experiences. It highlights how implementation teach writing second language context facilitates experience. A qualitative method was conducted experiences among 54 public university Malaysia. Data were collected through open-ended questions. Based on this study, findings showed that could real-life environment teaching applying educational theories learned.
